Our School of Film & Television's programme of guest lectures brings high-profile film, television and animation practitioners and scholars to Falmouth to deliver talks to our undergraduate and postgraduate students.
Billed as career masterclasses and embedded in the curriculum, the series encourages students to think about roles across film, television, animation and beyond. Each lecture provides an insight into what it takes to be a successful member of the professional film community.
Guests include the likes of Academy Award-winning sound engineer, Mark Ulano (Once Upon a Time in Hollywood and Ad Astra), the legendary Title Designer, Dan Perri (Star Wars), and BAFTA winning producers Dionne Walker and Emily Morgan.
An array of celebrated directors have also visited campus including; Mark Jenkin (Bait), Scott Barley (Sleep Has Her House), Turner Prize winner Jeremy Deller, Naomi Frears and Christine Molloy (Rose Plays Julie, Further Beyond), and Toby Haynes (Black Mirror, Sherlock).
Students have had the opportunity to hear from a number of leading animators, including Anthony Farquhar-Smith (Corpse Bride, Fantastic Mr Fox), Kitty Taylor (Charlie and Lola), Arslan Elver (Guardians of the Galaxy, Clash of the Titans), and Vivien Halas (Halas & Batchelor Collection).
We also work with regular visitors from our hothouse placement relationships with ENVY Post Production and NBC Universal, together with a range of alumni who return to speak to current students.
