Research Student Teaching Associate
Dan worked for several years in development in the arts and heritage sector (including at Tate Britain and Tate Modern) after his BA. He completed his MA in Professional Writing in 2017.
His PhD is practice-based and proposes a new field of creative non-fiction writing practice - Critical Heritage Storytelling. It is heritage storytelling informed as much by the study of taste, capital, privilege and class as by the study of narrative and contemporary poetics. It seeks to fill the translation gap that exists between contemporary critical thinking, the academic study of history and heritage, and interpretation within heritage organisations.
