Will Parker

Lecturer in Popular Music

Will Parker is a lecturer, researcher and composer specialising in technology and aesthetics - with particular focus on synthesis, live-electronics and contemporary production techniques. His performance practice is centred around interactivity, chance and the interface between software and hardware. Will has performed widely in London at venues including Tate Modern and the Science Museum. He is currently undertaking a PhD on the subject of field recording, synthesis and landscape and is supervised by Professor David Prior (DoS) and Professor Mike Rofe. Will began teaching at Falmouth in 2014 and was made a substantive member of staff in 2016. Along with Dr Johny Lamb, Will runs the POST- ensemble, which brings together analogue synthesis, prepared guitar and noise making devices in order to promote musical co-operation, close listening and a tactile and haptic engagement with electronic music.

Prior to lecturing Will worked as a freelance composer, sound designer and dialogue editor for TV, film, games, radio, corporate promotions and software companies in the UK and LA. Former clients include: BBC Radio 4, ITV, BAR Honda and Ubunto.
